KOLBE'S REACTION

                                        Kolbe's reaction is a type of addition reaction. It is a reaction where the salic acid is prepared. 




In the above image we can se that if phenol is reacted with sodium hydroxide , sodium phenoxide is produced. And when sodium phenoxide treated with carbon dioxide the result is ortho hydro-benzoic oxcide, this reaction is called Kolbe's reaction.
